2. Timeline

2.1. PERMITTING, CONSTRUCTION, AND INTERCONNECTION TIMELINE

Our Gantt chart below, as seen in Figure 2, outlines our proposed 9-month timeline for procurement and permitting, construction, and interconnection. To mitigate the risk of a crowded and dangerous campus, we frontloaded our construction in July, a month when most students and staff are not there. Section 1.1.4. outlines the process for permitting in detail. Please see Section 2.2. for our construction staging approach.

2.2. CONSTRUCTION STAGING APPROACH

Before construction can begin, staging initiatives must take place. For the staging areas, we selected four parking lots on the East Campus and one parking lot on the City Campus conveniently located close to our construction sites. The East Campus lots can be seen in Figure 4. The City Campus lot can be seen in Figure 6. For the East Campus, we intentionally selected non-reserved parking lots as to not interfere with faculty, staff, and others with reserved spots. As construction is frontloaded in the summer months, we will be able to mitigate any inconveniences caused by utilizing these lots. For the City Campus, as construction of the Solar Flower should be brief, we selected the lot closest to Love Library: the Canfield Administration Building lot. Coordination with this building must take place to ensure that we are not interfering with their work.
